Argument Writing.  We have been learning to write arguments in writing.  Here is Isabel's opinion and reasons on the topic "Should Children Go to School?"

I believe that children should go to school because it is a very good place to learn to write, read and do maths.  So I think it would be a very good idea to go.

Firstly, if you didn't go to school, you would be very mean and stubborn and would not have any friends.

Secondly, if you didn't go to school, you would not be good at maths or writing or reading.

Lastly, you would not be able to get along with other people.

So I believe that you should go to school.

By Isabel Harper.

Isabel has provided a clear introduction which states her opinion, and has provided three reasons, beginning with time connectives, finishing with a concluding statement.  Well done Isabel!!!

Lucas has also written a well organised argument on the same topic, with three good reasons and time connectives.  His conclusion restates his point of view and has a call to action!!!

Should Children Go To School?

I strongly believe that every child in New Zealand should go to school.  It is a good start to a child's adult life because you learn to be independent.

Firstly, you learn to be nice, friendly, kind and helpful.

Secondly, it develops your brain, but how does it develop your brains?  Because you learn e.g. writing, maths and literacy.

Lastly, school is an adventure, e,.g., there is a bike track, a swimming pool and a playground.

You learn to be social, it develops your brain and school is an adventure.  Do it now!!!
